WOYWW #265 & Love Quilts UK

Good morning ladies...

Thank you for visiting my blog from Stamping-Ground I am entry no.40.

Well this is not truly a WOYWW as my crafting has not been very productive at my table, it was temporarily relocated to my lap on the sofa as I have been cross stitching squares for Love Quilts UK who turn them into gorgeous quilts for children with a terminal illness.

Cover Photo

This charity would not be able to do this without the excellent volunteers who cross stitch and quilter who sew them, without these fantastic people they would not be able to supply these quilts.

These are my four completed squares:

Alison A Carter's photo.

Alison A Carter's photo.  Alison A Carter's photo.   Alison A Carter's photo.

These squares will be used on a Winnie The Pooh themed quilt that Love Quilts are creating as a gift for my daughter Éloise who is like her mother Disney crazy.

If you are a cross stitcher or would like to donate please visit

and you will find more information as to how you can help.

As a mother of a child with a terminal illness you will never understand how special these quilts are for the child and their parents!

Let me introduce to you…

Blendabilities from Stampin’ Up!

Stampin’ Up! have created their own range of alcohol markers in some of their colours.  They are available in twelve colour packs and Stampin’ Up! have created some lovely stamp sets to be used with the Blendabilities pens.

What Sets Them Apart:

  • The Stampin' Up! rectangular barrel keeps your markers from rolling away!
  • Flat storage helps to maintain the life of each marker,
  • Each marker comes with a tip on each end: brush and fine,
  • Marker tips are made of nylon, which is superior to polyester which can fray,
  • Colour coded caps,
  • Stampin' Up! markers coordinate wonderfully with our cardstock, and can be used with transparent sheets.

Blendabilities Features & Benefits

How To Use Blendabilities (video – click on image)

image

A pack of three Blendabilities cost £10.905 and come in twelve colours:

calypso coral #130996, coastal cabana #131000, cherry cobbler #130995, crumb cake #131004, daffodil delight # 130998, melon mambo #130994, night of navy #131001, old olive #130999, wisteria wonder #131002, pumpkin pie #130997, rich razzleberry #131003 & smoky slate #131005.

In addition to these colours you can purchase:

six pack of Skin Tone Assortment markers #129370 for £20.95,

colour lifter pen (for correcting mistakes) #129369 £4.50

Memento Ink Pad (permanent ink – no bleeding) #132708 £5.50

Memento Ink Refill (Item #133456 - 5,95 €/£4.50 ).

All of these will make a lovely addition to your Stampin’ Up! collection and if like me you are new to alcohol pens, you will find them very easy to use and very addictive.

Having never used an alcohol pen before, I was very impressed with how intense the colours were and how versatile they can be.  I am now addicted and looking forward to adding to my collection.

I started off by buying the colour lift pen (I always make mistakes) and a packet of rich razzleberry, coastal cabana and daffodil delight.  I used Stazon ink which is also a black permanent ink (#101406 £5.95, refill #102566 £4.25).  I also purchased the Blended Bloom stamp (#135906 £9.95) as I had seem some lovely cards that have been made using this stamp and the Blendabilities pens.

All of these items will be available to purchase from 1st July 2014 and you can pre-order these through me so that you will receive them within a week of them being launched.  Just contact me for more information.

WOYWW #261

Thanking your visiting my blog from the Stamping Ground!
I have decided that when it is time to take the photo for WOYWW my table is always a mess.  It could have been clean and tidy for the past few days but when I get around to taking the picture some little crafty imp messes it up!
20140603_220222[1]For example this afternoon I sat chatting to a friend and tidied the table as we chatted, then at photo time before bed you can see it is not very tidy.  Ok I did make three cards for customers orders but surely I never created all that mess!!
Well a guided tour is needed of my crafting mess:
  • pencil and pad – creating a new to do list, last one looked messy with all the crossing outs, original list to the right of my pad,
  • parcel tape – perfect for keeping my glue upright,
  • Blooming with Kindness stamp set – need to create five sympathy cards for a monthly swap on ILWS,
  • alphabet sizzlits – did a personalised wedding card for a customers order,
  • pencil case – had to be emptied and repacked as zip was bulging a bit too much, new sharpies collection has now been placed on the table,
  • just on the right side (going out of shot) – is my goodie tin.  Yes I am guilty of stashing chocolate from hubby and keeping it for crafting emergencies.  Although my granddaughter noticed it that Nana has two creme eggs in there along with my drumsticks, parma violets and swizzels.  I gave her a lolly and off she trotted, phew creme eggs safe until her next visit!
  • Well I promise that next week will be more exciting as my Stampin’ up! new catalogue goodies will be here today for me to play with… that’s the advantage of being a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator!

Project Life and MDS

Well it is all go in the wonderful world of Stampin’ Up!

We are only 28 days until the new Stampin’ Up! annual catalogue is launched in the UK.  Having seen a copy of this, I am really excited as this is the best catalogue in my opinion so far.  It has more variety than ever, not only does it have some lovely stamp sets and punches, but they have brought in some new wonderful products – over the next 28 days I will be teasing you with sneak peeks! Watch this space!

One of these is Project Life, I was doing cartwheels when I heard that Stampin’ Up! had teamed up with Becky Higgins. I was like hearing that they were giving away free chocolate in the supermarket!

As I previously showed you Project Life has started on MDS (My Digital Studio).  In addition to the Everyday Adventure Digital Project Life Cards and the two Project Life Digital Brush Sets – Day to Day and Point & Click, that I have been showing samples of over the past few weeks, they have now brought out:

Happiness Is Project Life Cards £13.95 item no. 138041

Little Moments Project Life Cards £13.95 item no.138039

Playground Project Life Cards £13.95 item no.138040

Remember This Project Life Digital Brush Set £5.95 item no.138014

When the new annual catalogue comes out on the 1st July, you will see that they have the Project Life Card Collections and stamp sets the same as the Digital versions above.  In addition to this in to these they have Accessory packs (stickers, hardware, speciality cards, washi tape and a variety of embellishments) that will allow you to co-ordinate with the cards you have created.

I will continue to give you updates on Project Life and MDS. Next Monday you will get to see the cards that I created using MDS over the past few weeks and how I have used them.

Please do not hesitate to contact me should you require any further information.

WOYWW #260 entry no-3

Happy Fifth Birthday to WOYWW

Hello and thank you for stopping by from Stamping Ground.

Well I have had a really mad week since you last stopped by – finally made a start on my craft room (half of the room sorted – I’m kind of stalling on the other half, I know it needs doing but…), lovely long weekend with my kids, my eldest daughter and granddaughter came to stay too.

WOYWW 260

My granddaughter (Alexa aged four) had made me the picture with buttons on (green paper) at nursery as she knew how much I loved buttons, so we sat with some of my buttons and between us made the flowers/cloud picture.  I loved it more than she did, she sat on my lap and we kept having hugs and kisses, making the most of it as she lives 150 miles away.

Although with family to entertain, I still managed to craft like mad for a Craft Fair at Weybourne, Holt on Sunday. It was a good day although seven hours long.  I took crafting with me to do, like cutting out ties that I had stamped for my Shirts card candy, assembling flowers ready to use on cards and sell as candy (these can be seen on my crafting Facebook page – Crafting Alison) and chatting with my friend who was selling paper flowers.

My table is in need of tidying before I start preparing for a scrapbooking class on Saturday.  This is a new group of FIFTEEN, yes I said FIFTEEN ladies that contacted me asking for me to do a class with them. I’m over the moon at the interest shown but I have never done a class so big!

Well look forward to seeing you next week…

Thank you for stopping by and Happy Crafting!!!

WOYWW #259 - entry no.38

Thank you for visiting me from Stamping Ground.

Having missed last week due to my cousin coming over from America and having a lovely family outing to Cadbury’s World… I am back this week and very prepared.

20140520_223416[1]

I was really pleased that a very good friend of mine Lee-Anne asked me to create a scrapbook page.  She would like to put it in a box frame and give it to her husband Phil for their wedding anniversary.  It is of his Grandfather during World War Two.

To be honest I was really scared as I worried I might not do it the justice that it deserves so I kept putting it off.  Then yesterday I knew I had to just due it.  I have used scanned copies of the original documents and she will be replacing the copy of the photo with the original photo (I was way to scared to use that one lol).

Once this was finished I was really pleased with how it looked.  As usual it is nothing like I first planned it in my head.  I always sketch a layout then construct from the layout, I just went for it! Think I’m getting braver in my old age!

In addition the the scrapbook page I am preparing for a craft fair that I will be attending at Weybourne, North Norfolk on Sunday. (Oh I do like to be beside the seaside!)  No doubt my table will get messier by then.

I am actually on a mission to gut my craft room, have a good clear out and make sure everything has a place etc etc.  This will start this afternoon and continue over the next few days, well in theory. In reality it will take about a week. I am going to be super thorough and get it organised. I will show pictures of all the stages once it is complete.

See you all next week for the 5th Birthday of WOYWW!

All of these stamp sets are available as actual stamp sets too.  Both Wetlands and Giggle Greetings should be in the new Annual Catalogue.  However, Baby Tees is rumoured to be leaving along with all other Stampin’ Wheels.

This week I have been playing with the add-on downloads and I was so pleased at how reasonable priced these were.

I had purchased Clockworks Stamp Brush Set as I had always wanted it as an actual stamp set to create male cards. However, financially I always chose to spend my money on other stamp sets and never got around to it.  So when I saw it as a Digital Download I jumped at the chance to have it.
